It led to an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program and graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Since then, she's appeared involved in more than 60 shows, big and small. Most notable was when she landed the role of Rita in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian part of the cast for the season 1 of the series, and only appeared on occasion.
